Yes we all want our children to be accountable citizens. We want them to hold themselves accountable and have pride in their work. We want to them to understand that living in a society calls for greater tasks towards society.
What better way for our children to learn this in a swift and an organized way than a scout program?
We actively encourage our kids to join various scout programs on various themes.
We all have asked our children to enroll in scouts programs across the country. The kids like it and get pleasure from it too.
In fact they excitedly wait for the scouts program. Its fun and involves challenges and lets them learn things quickly.
But have you ever thought of the consequences of a scouts program gone bad?
No, we are not referring to the small insignificant bruises and injuries. We are referring to our children being soft targets for criminals in the lurch. Scouts programs are not held in the hustle and bustle of city, rather they are held outskirts, where kids get to camp for few days and learnwork as a group.
Now these places offer criminals the right setting to strike. The places are away from a noteworthy population and are generally used as hideouts by criminals.
A few weeks back, a local group organized a scouts program. Boy scouts from nearby schools registered and the event was supposedly planned well.
The area selected for the scouts program was one which was far away from the city. A calm and peaceful place quite deserted and houses that are far away from each other. As we all know scouts are given activities which they have to perform as a team. One such team had to work nearby a small factory of woodcutters.
The employees, mostly men stayed close by. A group of boy scouts in their enthusiasm of their work roamed close to the factory. When the organizer came to know of this he ordered the boys to return to their camps. It was soon found that one of the boy scouts was lost. He had been there when the group had roamed into the factory.
The scout program co-coordinator called the police for assistance, but the police were clueless even after contacting the factory employees. Neither were they able to track the boy nor his abductors. The Boy Scout is still missing.
